About Us

Concierge Travel is a boutique gay-owned travel agency and tour operator that provides highly personalized service to all its clients. Concierge Travel was founded in 1997 by Kim Gustavsson in Houston, Texas, and entered the LGBT market in 2000. Concierge Travel creates intimate, customized experiences for its LGBT guests on its own exclusive small-ship cruises and land tours. We also provide a range of services and enhancements on the vacations that we book for our guests with other travel providers.

From its modest beginnings, Concierge Travel is today the single largest RSVP Vacations agency in the world. Concierge was named Houston's "Gayest & Greatest Travel Agency" in the OutSmart Magazine readers poll in 2010, an honor it has received each year since 2002. It was also named "Best LGBT Cruise or Tour Company" in 2010.

In 2009 Concierge Travel began offering its own small ship cruise charters, starting with a Galapagos Islands cruise, in response to a demand in the market for intimate, small-ship experiences. Concierge Travel has expanded its customized vacation offerings to include a once-in-a-lifetime sailing adventure in Costa Rica on the 170-passenger Star Flyer in March 2011, as well as land trips in 2010 and 2011 to South Africa and Machu Picchu, Peru.

Concierge Travel believes strongly in supporting the gay and lesbian community, and regularly gives back to important LGBT organizations. Concierge Travel donates 20 percent of its total net travel revenue annually to the LGBT community. Concierge Travel also is a Bronze National Partner of the Human Rights Campaign and donated more than $50,000 to LGBT-focused organizations in 2009.

Kim Gustavsson - V.P. Sales & Marketing

Kim Gustavsson was born and raised in Sweden and traveled extensively throughout Europe as a teenager and young adult. He has lived in the United States for over 20 years. The only continent that remains untouched by Kim in his travels is Antarctica. Some of his favorite destinations are Rio De Janeiro, Amsterdam, Paris, Sydney, Hawaii and Italy. His native country of Sweden also holds a special place in his heart. Since 2001 Kim has been on over 40 cruises including a number of Caribbean, Mediterranean, Baltic, South American and Alaskan cruises. He has cruised on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, The Royal Clipper, Princess and Silver SeaCruises. When not on the road, Kim spends time at home with his partner of 13 years, Charles, and their "daughter" - a black Labrador named Mocha.

Alan Moehle - Sales & Marketing

Alan joined Concierge Travel in January 2006, bringing with him over 15 years travel experience working with Continental Airlines. During his tenure at Continental, he worked in Customer Service, Reservations and eight and a half years working in Marketing, focusing on airline, hotel and car partnerships with their frequent flyer program. Alan loves to travel and some of his favorite destinations include France, the Netherlands, Italy and Mexico, which he visits at least once a year. When he's not traveling, he loves spending time with his partner of 16 years, Brent, and his Black Lab, Mac.

Stan Carpenter - Special Projects and Client Relations

Stan has worked in the travel business for 35 years, beginning in 1975 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He joined Trans World Airlines in 1978 at the beginning of the computer age, and also worked for American Airlines for more than 20 years. Over the years he has learned a number of different technologies and programming languages. He's always tried to use technology to make diverse travel experiences available to travel agents and travellers, alike. Stan has lived in more than half a dozen place around the world, including London; Hong Kong; Melbourne, Australia; and up and down the central United States. Stan retired from a global travel automation provider in 2006. He joined Concierge Travel in 2007, bringing with him travel planning, business process design and computer experience.
